I am committed to bringing both classic and lesser-known early films to contemporary audiences, through my research, teaching, and engagement activities. In order to further this cause, I worked with Oxford University Museums Partnership to inaugurate a series of late night film showings, introduced by academics and practitioners. I curated the first of these events in 2014; it featured a screening of Lotte Reiniger’s The Adventures of Prince Achmed (1926), the oldest surviving animated feature film. The film was accompanied by a specially commissioned live score, composed and performed by local band Flights of Helios.
