Illustrating James Joyce

Illustrating James Joyce

I am committed to demythologising Joyce, to dispelling the misconception of him as an elitist, overly-difficult writer. Yes – there is a certain ‘difficulty’ inherent in Joyce’s work, but this need not be a barrier to fruitful engagement with his texts. Sometimes, people just need a different way in. One way in is through artistic rather than critical engagement. This is what I sought to facilitate through my collaborative ‘Illustrating Joyce’ workshops.

You can read more about my ‘Illustrating Ulysses‘ workshop here and here, and my ‘Illustrating Finnegans Wake‘ workshop here.
